Lovely weekend.
Friday stayed in bed reading until 10. Sat in the sun at the kitchen table and did a French Manicure. Chatted on the phone to a friend. Had lunch. Went to Takapuna Beach for a job interview with a market research company - it seemed to go really well....until I found out the pay starts at $11 and hour! It's $18 nin Melb for the same thing. I have decided to wai tuntil they offer me the job and then just see if I can get them to pay me any more with my 7 years casual experience and if not, I'll leave it and try and do better somewhere else.
Saturday...gym in the morning - upper body. Then to Devonport - North Shore where Dave's folks live to pick up some eskies for the Red Party that was on last night. As we arrived, Reese and Finn (Dave's bro and his son) were just leaving with Barry (Dave's dad) to go out on the boat fishing. Finn wouldn't let go of Reese's finger because he wanted all the attention and didn't want him talking to us I think! Pat (Dave's mum) had the day off work so we had eggs for brekky there and chatted which was lovely. Picked some fresh rhubarb from the garden and tried not to let Nat (big smelly hairy dog) rub on me too much! Then went to get some supplies for Dave's landscaping and then went home for a nap and read. I was at the venue for the party at 5 to set up and do decorations with some other girls. The room looked awesome when we finished. We hung red strings of red fake flowers in the doorway for people to walk through. Put some red gels over the lights and hung red fabric in a big draping diagonal criss-cross across the ceiling. Then had Rose and Aletia over to get changed and have dinner. Aletia went as a cheerleader all in red and I wore my pom pom top and Dr Seuss skirt and a big red leather bow around my boot and Rose wore a red dress. We had fun. Dave went out for dinner with his mate. Then back to the Red Dance for a boogie....or so I thought. But we got there and the music was melodic, boring house and I realised I had to come to terms with being a bit of a music snob - hung around for an hour then Dave and I came home and watched half a bad video and went to bed.
Up at 6 this morning, picked up Reese and his girlfriend at 7 and drove to the west coast for the boys to go surfing. Gorgeous morning for it. I sat on the black sand beach admiring the patterns the heavier lead sand made in the lighter coloured sand and the whole beach sparkled with the amazing sand. The sky was blue and the cliffs came straight down to the beach from the Waitakere ranges. Very beautiful. Had fund playing with my camera. Didn't enjoy Reese's girlfriend who would not shut up and even when I tried to have a read she kept babbling on and on about herself and her life and lalalala. Anyway, it was a good lesson in tolerance I guess and the scenery was awesome. We got back, did our groceries, had something to eat and crashed out for a couple of hours. Woke up at 5 and made a yummy carbonara pasta with salad and here I am...satisfied, happy, warm, premenstrual but not homicidal and looking forward to another week of work and life here in Auckland. Love to everyone....
