Summer days drifting away....

Lazy Sunday and feelin divine in the sunshine, warmth on my skin and cruisin.
As you can see, I have finally worked out how to upload pictures. This one was taken when we went up north - this was at the top of the North Island - Cape Reinga.
It is the silly season as everyone keeps poitning out to me and there I was, thinking it won't affect me (not sure why I thought that - maybe cos I'm Jewish!! ha ha) and I have to say, it certainly has.
Monday I was at work at the YWCA from 10-10 as we had the Annual Awards Celebration where we have the students and their familes, mentors and their families (if they choose to bring them) and anyone else (like sponsors and patrons) who are connected to the programme. It was a great night and Dave came along too. We had a couple of brief speeches followed by the prizegiving (I wrote all the text that was read out when presenting the prizes and it went really well - even if I do say so myself). Then we had some light supper and Tina Cross (well known kiwi singer) sang. The sound system was shit and there were lots of things that could have gone better but everyone enjoyed the night.
Tuseday I worked and Wednesday I worked and then left early to go get my hair coloured cos my roots were getting out of control! It looks way better now. Then it was Aletia's (our friend with breast cancer) art auction. I was on registrations. There were some awesome artworks that were donated and I think we made over $20,000 towards her treatment - we need $100,000 to get her the one that is most likely to succeed with her particular type of cancer. It was an awesome night - I had heaps of fun and then right at the end, they auctioned a session with a makeup artist and $200 worth of Mac makeup and Dave got it for me!!! I was so excited cos then I can learn how to do nice make up for the wedding. Very cool.
Thursday after work I went out with a bunch of girlfriends for coffee (I am hooked on decaf mocca's in a glass with skinny milk at the moment). I have met a really funny chic called Emma who just cracks me up all over the place. She used to do a bit of stand-up comedy I've since found out.
Friday I worked - did the Activity day for the students on the Future Leaders programme - it went really well. Then hung out with some girlfriends that night. Saturday I went to the gym and did lower body on my new programme and turned my legs to jelly. I can balance on a fit ball on my knees now - major improvement from 2 months ago when I couldn't even balance on all fours. So that was exciting. Came home after that and had big brekky and a sleep then spent all afternoon making Dav'e xmas present while he did some xmas shopping. I got him an esky and did some stencils on it. One of a surfer and one of me. I have never stencilled before and they came out really well so I think that will be a new interest of mine. It was such fun. Dave got home with all the presents for his family and had bought me a new clothes rack - which was much needed as mine was about to fall over and collapse. He also got us a wicked tent for when we go camping over New Year's. Saturday night we went out for dinner with some firends then went for icecreams by the beach then went to Blackalicious concert which rocked. We didn't get home til 1:30. We had a ball. Today's been nice and chilled - went for a swim at the bottom of our street this morning and have been pottering around ever since.

Love and hugs to everyone - hope you're enjoying the silly season.
