Chilly morning not chilli choccy tim tams

I've been the popcorn, chocolate, tim tam and DVD girl recently and enjoying every minute of it! Well, mainly on weekends. Haven't tried them yet but have noticed you can get chilli-chocolate tim tams! There's like 7 tim tam flavours these days...Loving food at the moment and have been cooking delicious treats for dinner - because I have no recipe books I am getting very creative. I got chicken breasts the other day and put little slits in them and stuffed them with dried apricots and put them in the oven. I served that with these little treats where i got a muffin tin and lined the muffin cups with puff pastry and filled them with spinach, mushroom, fetta, cheese and olives. SO yummy - highly recommended. The other creation I made last night that tantalised my taste buds that I thought I'd share is.....puff pastry parcels stuffed with the following: soft tofu mashed up, soy sauce, honey, bit of sweet chilli, coriander and mashed pumpkin. YUM!
Work is awesome at the moment. I'm going out to Mt Roskill school today to go through the girls' ap[plications. They're a new school coming onto our program and we need to choose 10 girls out of about 40 applications. None of them ahve been in the country for more than 3 years- it's for our new imigrant module. Also, yesterday I planned the coolest stuff to take us through to the end of the financial year. There will be 4 workshops: career pathways, public speaking, professional women showcase where successful women in the careers professions the girls are interested in will speak, first aid. Then, 4 activity days which are for the students and their mentors: conservation and orienteering, hip hop culture day, craft skills and xmas present making day and theatre sports, nutrition and cooking. Very exciting - so inspired.
Also, there's a party I'm going to on the 20 August which the theme is red. I found a tight red t-shirtish top outside the opshop that I walk past on my way to the bus each morning. I'm going to get little red pom poms and red cotton and attach them all over the top so the dangle and bounce when I move...
Creative writing group is going well - it's my turn to run the group next week so am kinda wishing I had some of my textbooks from when I majored in it but it'll be sweet.
I gotta get to work, just realised the time!

Sunday splendour

The ground was damp when we woke up so the message from the Universe was a clear - no bushwalking today! We had planned to go bushwalking with a friend of Dave's...
We were going to go to the gym early....
But we didn't.
We got a new washing machine off trademe - the auction online thingy that we're hooked on so we have spent all morning doing loads of washing - and trying to get the thing to work smoothly. I think we finally have it sussed. Seems to be spinning like a dream now!
I busted my clothesrack last night - hung one too many items on it and it fell apart so gotta get some bits and pieces to fix it today. Gym will have to wait til later....
AND I have put some jewellery I've been making on trademe with a great salespitch..."Handmade beaded jewellery by Melbourne designer, recently moved to Auckland..." It will be interesting to see how it goes. Haven't approached any shops with it yet but have done some interesting new designs.
Ok, blabbering on, so gonna head off...
